A Living Will is a legal document in which you make a declaration that you do not wish to be kept alive by artificial means – e.g. machines, feeding tubes or similar non-mechanical means. It is very important to make sure that the person or persons you have named as your health care surrogate understands your wishes and is willing to carry out your wishes (not the surrogate’s wishes) when instructing your attending medical professionals.
